Welcome to Parole Rotary Club

Chartered in 1985, the Parole Rotary Club is a service club of approximately 65 professional and business leaders both retired and active, who share an interest in learning more about the needs in our community and how we can make an impact. In addition, to several hands-on volunteer projects, we raise funds each year to provide grants to non-profit organizations that help local children in arts, education, and welfare. Our vision is “We will make a positive difference for youth today, so they will make a difference tomorrow.” Most funds are raised by parking cars at the Naval Academy’s home football games followed by a fun tailgate.

During my upcoming year as president, I will continue to work on expanding our public image to attract interested members. Our club values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all ages and backgrounds. During COVID, our previous projects with our high school Rotaract club and Inbound Exchange students were canceled, but now we are pleased to have two active Rotaract clubs as well as an exchange student from Jakarta for the coming school year. While Books for International Goodwill (BIG)continues to be our major international project, we have collaborated with other Rotary Clubs, to support a water project in Honduras. For those interested in international travel, members can participate in a firsthand work project in December.

I encourage you to come and see what we are all about. We meet each Tuesday for breakfast at 7:30-8:30 am at the Doubletree Hotel, 210 Holiday Court, Annapolis or by Zoom. Each meeting has an interesting speaker who informs and entertains us on a variety of community and international topics. In addition, you’ll soon make new friends who share your community spirit!

In Rotary Service,
Prue Clendenning
President – 2022-23
